The State Government is developing a plan to address gender inequality in Western Australia.

While significant advances have been made to remove barriers to women’s full economic and social participation, there is still a long way to go to bring about lasting solutions.

This plan will provide a framework for coordinated action by Government, business, organisations and individuals with practical steps to advance gender equality.

The first stage of the Women’s Voices: Building a Stronger WA together consultation closed on 31 July 2019.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the consultation. Particular thanks to the community groups and organisations that held consultation sessions to enable members of the community to have their say in a supportive environment.

Though the consultation process, a wide range of people from all age groups, diverse backgrounds, different abilities and diverse sexual identities across Western Australia provided their thoughts and ideas. A consultation report will be made available.

Comment on the draft plan

A draft plan for gender equality has been developed from the input provided through the consultation process. Stronger Together: WA's Plan for Gender Equality is an overview of how the Government, business and the community can work together to drive gender equality over the next ten years.

Specific implementation plans will follow, and these will include more information about actions to achieve the vision and goals of the Plan.

Input into Stronger Together: WA's Plan for Gender Equality is now closed. If you would like to be updated on the progress of the Plan, please email
