Have Your Say: opportunities to contribute to the review

The Department of Communities is progressing the review of the Carers Recognition Act 2004 on behalf of the Minister for Community Services, Hon Simone McGurk MLA.

The Department has developed a consultation paper to inform the review and guide feedback. The paper provides information on the main features of the Act, and questions to guide feedback. It is available in two formats:

Although our online feedback survey has closed, we will accept written feedback emailed to carers@communities.wa.gov.au. The closing date for written feedback is 7 December 2018.

Stakeholder consultation sessions: Expression of Interest

Carers, community members and other stakeholders are invited to have their say on the review of the Act. Groups of 10 or more people are invited to express their interest in holding a targeted consultation session. The Department can arrange sessions in metropolitan and regional areas.

Who can apply?

Eligible groups and organisations must be either:

  • an incorporated organisation
  • a local government authority
  • an unincorporated organisation or community group.

Who cannot apply?

Ineligible groups and organisations include:

  • a federal or state government agency
  • an individual.
