The Department of Communities is leading the development of a whole-of-community plan to tackle homelessness in Western Australia.

The 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness will find better ways to prevent homelessness and support those who are experiencing it.

A partnership between the State Government and the community services sector, the strategy is also a key project of the Supporting Communities Forum.

Development of the strategy will involve seeking input from people who have experienced homelessness and from service providers that work with homeless people.

Consultation Reports

Community consultations for the 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness were held throughout regional and metropolitan Western Australia in September and October 2018. Consultations were held in Broome, Kununurra, Port Hedland, Karratha, Geraldton, Albany, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Cockburn, Joondalup and the Perth CBD.

Please visit this page to view the consultation reports, where you will also find an overall summary report outlining the consultation process and key findings.

This feedback has been vital in the development of the Directions Paper, which is intended for release for public comment in March 2019.
