A celebration of our state’s seniors will be in full swing from Sunday 11 to Saturday 17 November for WA Seniors Week 2018.

From whale watching to a Mad Hatters Tea Party - Seniors Week events that encourage active ageing and inclusivity will be held throughout metropolitan and regional WA. View the Seniors Week grants list for events supported by the Department of Communities 2018 Seniors Week Grants Program.

For those in the metropolitan area, don’t miss the annual ‘Have a Go Day’ at Burswood Park on Wednesday 14 November. Run by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA, this year’s event will have 230 stalls, including hobby, health, fitness and entertainment stands. The Department of Communities WA Seniors Card team will be hosting a marquee at this event, providing advice and information about the benefits a WA Seniors Cards can offer.

The grand finale to Seniors Week is the announcement of the WA Seniors Award winners at an event hosted by COTA WA. These awards recognise the outstanding contributions that older Western Australians make to our community and are presented in partnership with the Department of Communities.
