There is still time to have your say on the review of the Carers Recognition Act 2004. The closing date for the feedback has been extended to 31 August 2018.
The Act aims to recognise the role of Western Australian carers and provide ways to involve them in important decisions, including the provision of carers’ services.
The review aims to ensure carers continue to be supported and recognised.
The Department of Communities has released a consultation paper to help you participate and have your say on the review. The paper provides a summary of key information being considered in the review, relevant sections of the Carers Act and some discussion questions to consider when providing feedback.
Anyone who is a carer or has a family member or friend who is being cared for can get involved by completing an online feedback form.
Additionally, the Department is hosting a community consultation session to give you an opportunity to find out more about the review and discuss each aspect of the Act.
The session will be held on 15 August from 10am to 1.00pm at the Level 2 Exhibition Hall, Gordon Stephenson House, 140 William Street, Perth.
