More than 100 events for young people will run across the State as part of Youth Week WA celebrations.

Youth Week WA, which runs from 13-20 April 2019, is the State’s biggest celebration of young people. It is presented by Propel Youth Arts in partnership with the Department of Communities.

Propel is coordinating the WA KickstART Festival which will see more than 40 free events on offer for young people across the State including workshops, live performances, markets, exhibitions, installations, talks and mentorships.

In addition to this Communities has provided nearly $60,000 in grants funding to organisations and local governments across WA to hold events that celebrate young people.

This year's YWWA Ambassador is Zal Kanga-Parabia, 23, a musician and photographer with a passion for community engagement and Deputy Youth Ambassador Bella Ndayikeze, 22, is an ardent advocate for young people.

The theme for 2019 is ‘Nurture the Now’ which will celebrate sustainable growth, and encourage young people and the broader community to recognise the contributions of young people to communities across WA.
