Celebrated annually throughout the world on 3 December, International Day of People with Disability aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and honour their achievements and contributions.
This year's theme is 'Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 world'.
There are many ways communities and organisations can get involved and share the message that positive community attitudes and behaviours towards people with disability are critical to creating an inclusive society.
Download our Planning Pack for activity ideas. You can also download our infographics (see below) to share on social media, or visit the International Day of People with Disability webpage for more promotional materials.
Sponsorship opportunities to host dedicated events or activities are also available this year. Please visit the Developmental Disability WA website for more information. Applications close Monday, 9 November 2020.
Together, we can create a Western Australia for everyone and strive for equitable opportunities and outcomes in all areas of life for people with disability.
