The As Eye See It Photographic Exhibition, coordinated by the Department of Communities, provides an insight into the world of young Western Australians currently living in out-of-home care.
Participants were given a camera and encouraged to take four photographs of the ‘people, places and things’ which hold a special significance for them.
The collection of images and captions is a poignant and honest exploration of their experiences and provides a thought-provoking insight into their young lives.
This exhibition forms part of Communities’ promotion of National Child Protection Week (2 – 8 September 2018), reinforcing the message that we all have a part to play in keeping our children and young people safe.
Visit the free exhibition at the WA Shipwrecks Museum from 31 August – 14 October 2018 at 45 Cliff Street, Fremantle.
