The Department of Communities Achiever Awards program offers financial assistance to young people aged 15 to 25 years, who have been in the Department’s care and who are pursuing further education and training.

Award recipients receive funding to assist with tertiary education, vocational training, or an apprenticeship or traineeship.

Nominations are invited into three categories:

  • University Achiever Award – Prize: $4,000 + trophy
  • Registered Training Achiever Award – Prize: $1,000 + trophy
  • Apprenticeship or Traineeship Achiever Award – Prize: $1,000 + trophy.

An Achiever Award winner who has also made an important contribution to their community will be presented with a further $1,000, through the Community Spirit Award.
