Applications for the Centenary of Armistice Tour have now closed.

The Western Australian Centenary of Armistice Tour 2018 (the Tour) is an initiative of the Western Australian State Government to increase the knowledge of and engagement between young people and their local communities with the Centenary of Armistice.

Up to eight young people, aged 18 - 25 years, will undertake a tour of key historical sites from World War I (WWI) and have an opportunity to learn and further develop their understanding of the role of Australians and Western Australians in WWI. The Tour is a unique opportunity for young people to develop self-confidence, exchange ideas and share experiences with the other participants, as well as developing global citizenship.

The Tour will promote:

  • An understanding of the role and service of Australians and Western Australians during WWI
  • An understanding of a significant historical period and the enduring impact of WWI and
  • An opportunity to connect with veterans, communities and other young people now and into the future.

Successful applicants will be invited to share their experiences and knowledge gained from the Tour. Costs for accommodation, meals and the Tour will be met by the Western Australian Government.
