Youth Mentoring Reform
Mentoring is widely regarded as making a significant contribution to the wellbeing of young people and to their successful transition to adulthood.
It is widely used by agencies working with young people in primary and secondary schools, with high achieving and with vulnerable young people, in workplaces and training situations.
Much of the mentoring in the community is informal and not connected to any agency. Mentoring is often included as a component of other work agencies are doing with young people. Some programs focus primarily on mentoring.
The Youth Mentoring Reform Project is working with a wide range of government and non-government agencies to identify what can be done to ensure sustainable support for quality mentoring programs and to demonstrate their effectiveness in delivering improved outcomes for young people.
