Fit Mind - Fit Body and Soul
Growing up can be complex. If you are a young person, you probably have a lot of conflicting demands on your time, stress from work and school, and expectations from family, friends and colleagues.
All of these pressures can start to accumulate over time and, if the load proves too much to bear, can often result in feelings of anxiety, sadness and even depression. The Fit Mind - Fit Body and Soul kit, consisting of a series of "Help Sheets", contains information on these topics and more, and is a young person's guide in the pursuit of positive mental and emotional health.
Music Feedback Toolkit
Music Feedback is a creative and fun anti-stigma campaign that uses music to talk about mental health and wellbeing. The Music Feedback slogan is ‘Music talks about mental health. So can you’. Speaking honestly and openly about mental health is the best way to increase understanding and remove the stigma surrounding it.
The goal of the Music Feedback Toolkit is to support more live music youth events across the state that celebrate mental health and wellbeing. The toolkit is a do-it-yourself guide for young people to stage their own event, and includes a step by step guide to all aspects of organising an event, such as programming, production, administration and budgeting, marketing and venue management.
The toolkit was produced by Cultural Infusion with a grant from the Department for Communities.

An investigation of the nature and effects of point-of-sale promotions for alcohol beverages
This research report outlines the findings from ‘An investigation of the nature and effects of point-of-sale promotions for alcohol beverages’.
The research was funded by the Department for Communities and the federal government funding through an Australian Research Council Linkage Project grant. The research was led by the University of Wollongong‘s Centre for Health Initiatives and was supported by Curtin University.
The aim of the research was to explore the nature and extent of point-of-sale alcohol promotions in bottle shops in Perth and Sydney and to examine any relationships between the promotions and the type and quantity of alcohol purchased by young people. The research also examined the effect of point-of-sale promotions on young people’s drinking intentions and behaviours.
