What we can help you with

Telephone the Parenting Line when you have questions about any aspect of parenting and want some information or guidance.

You may want to know things like:

  • what to expect as your child grows and develops
  • how to manage your toddlers tantrums
  • play ideas for different ages
  • ideas to manage childhood problems like lying and stealing
  • what can you do about bullying
  • how to talk with your teenager about difficult things
  • where to get information about alcohol, drugs and teenagers
  • what services and groups can help you and your family

Trained staff are parents themselves. They understand the task of parenting and can talk with you about any questions you have, big or small. They can also put you in touch with other places which can help.

Who should call?

Anyone can call - parents, grandparents, other family members, friends, people taking care of children or those wanting to help someone who is.
